THE WAY OF MONEY

Musings on the flow of money, financial transactions,

and human desire for meaning, satisfaction and growth.

Dec. 11, 2024 - American business and innovation are founded upon entrepreneurship, which is founded upon risk. To start a business is to risk one’s money, one’s time, and even one’s reputation. The purpose of this firm is to use quantitative analysis to help other firms grow, be profitable and continue to grow. But we too have to start somewhere and that somewhere is here. Blog post number one.

This is my company, my idea, my endeavors, ultimately my income, and my stress of the ups and downs of my current and future business. In business (in life, in general) without risk, there is no reward - nothing is certain or clear. We think we have a valuable and worthwhile venture, and we pursue it. I have the skills and knowledge, and sales and marketing experience, that I believe will make this work, and so here we are.

Business owners work hard to understand and serve their customers, and more often than not, pay employees; customers work hard to earn money and discern what they want to spend that money on. Money is exchanged and value received. Credit and investment is available to businesses at every stage to augment this growth to facilitate even more transactions. Creditors and investors take risk because they’re confident they’ve identified ventures that will be profitable and grow and return more money on their investment. They make money but sometimes they lose money because, well, plans don’t always work out. And quite often, success is very difficult to repeat and sustain because the reason for success is not clearly evident.

I’m here because I want to be and I see an opportunity to provide a valuable service. This is blog post number one, and while I’m confident there will be many more, along with many client testimonials, there is plenty at risk here. No risk, no reward. And plenty of hard work to keep the business going, evolving, and growing. (jl)
